DAY 8: DISTRACTIONS
Nehemiah 6:1-14 highlight various ways by which a missionary can be distracted and intimidated. Four times the adversaries sent letters to Nehemiah suggesting meetings, but Nehemiah replied, “I am doing important work and cannot go down there. I am not going to let the work stop just to go and see you”.
Missionaries are faced with many distractions on the field. Sicknesses, attacks on family members, irrelevant meetings, “tent-making” activities, social activities, etc., are examples of such distractions.
- Pray for wisdom and discernment for missionaries to recognize such distractions.
- Ask God to give missionaries focus, that they may start and finish their task without distractions or being distracted.
